Description

SOUTH PETHERTON CP SOUTH STREET (East side) ST4316 7/169 Outbuildings about 14 metres south-east of No 27, and wall linking it to house

GV II

Outbui1ding. C18. Ham stone roughly cut and squared; clay pantiled roof with hip to south and stepped coped gable to north, set high and suggesting former thatch. Single storey. Set into the north gable an early C19 timber window having semi-circular arched head with 'Y'-tacery, rectangular-leaded, presumably relocated from elsewhere: west elevation plain. Interior not seen. Extending from the north-east corner northwards a matching stone wall about 2.5 metres high, linking to the south- east corner of No 27 (q.v.), with a cambered-arched gateway towards the house. The whole has considerable group value and plays an important part in the setting of No 27.
