Description
West Hayes is a semi-detached house dated 1741 on the north gable end and modified in the 19th century. It is constructed of ham stone ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof with a steep pitch, coped gables, and a parapet on the west facade. The building has brick end chimney stacks and consists of two storeys with an attic, arranged in three bays.
It has a plinth, cornice, and a plain parapet with moulded coping. The upper section contains 16-pane sash windows in plain openings. The outer bays feature angled bay windows with flat roofs, which include 8+16+8 pane sashes supported by fluted angle piers. The lower bay two has a six-flush-panel door in a plain opening, accompanied by an open stone porch that has very thin fluted Ionic columns and pilasters, a plain entablature, and a flat roof. The interior has not been seen.
