Description
St Elizabeth's is a detached cottage, probably from the 18th century. It is built of ham stone rubble with ashlar quoins, and the facade is rendered. The roof is plain clay tiled, featuring stepped coped gables with gabletted finials, and there are no visible chimney stacks. The cottage has two storeys with attics and an irregular fenestration of three bays.
On the upper level, there are three 3-light casement windows of an early design, which are rectangular and leaded with iron-framed opening lights. On the lower level, there is a 12-pane sash window of an early 19th-century style to the left of bay 1, a later sash window to the right of bay 1, and a 3-light horizontal-bar casement window of early design in bay 3. Below bay 2, there is a 6-flush-panel door set in a deep recess. A small leaded casement window is positioned high in the east gable. Attached to the lower side is a small single-storey building, likely a former carriage-house, which has a Welsh slate roof and an elliptical arched doorway with a pair of boarded doors. The interior has not been seen. Knapp House is attached to the rear south side of the cottage.
