Description
Brockle House and Long Entry is a pair of houses, originally one, built around 1800 but incorporating earlier work. They are constructed from local lias stone with near ashlar and feature a hipped clay pantiled roof and brick chimney stacks. The buildings are two storeys high with three bays and irregular fenestration. The composite sash windows have 4+8+4 panes on the upper level and 8+8 panes below, with simple timber architraves on the upper windows. There is an off-centre six-panel door in the second bay, topped with a lead-covered flat timber hood supported by shaped brackets. At the rear, there is a return with a coped northeast gable that includes more sash windows and casements on the east wall. A taller return wing on the west side may represent an earlier cottage. The interior has not been seen.
