Description

The New Inn is an inn, likely dating to the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed of local lias stone, squared and cut, with a roof of undulating plain clay tiles over stone slate base courses, featuring stepped coped gables and stone chimney stacks. The building has an 'L' shape and is two storeys high, with five bays. It has sash windows with 16 panes, paired on the ground floor and in the outer bays of the first floor. These windows are set in plain openings with voussoired flat arches. A plain boarded door is located off-centre in the third bay, sheltered by a 20th-century stone and tile porch. There is an outshut to the rear, and a long rear wing extension with a pantiled roof, which was formerly used as a barn. The interior has not been inspected.
