Description
The hay barn on the north side of the farmyard at Moortown Farm is a late 18th-century structure that features a throughway. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick and has a hipped tile roof, with a rectangular layout. The barn includes a semi-circular head throughway at the center, which is framed by a moulded freestone surround and has paired plank doors. On each side of the barn, there are small semi-circular head door openings, also with moulded freestone surrounds and plank doors, along with circular breathers. There are outshuts with hipped roofs on each side; the left outshut has a slate roof and door openings with plank doors. This barn is part of a significant group of late 18th-century farm buildings that surround a barton.
