Description
This is an early 18th-century house located on the north side of St Mary’s Street in Nether Stowey. The house is constructed from coursed and squared red sandstone rubble with a plinth course, a broad, plain band at the first-floor level, and a moulded stone eaves cornice. It has a slate roof with coped verges and brick end stacks. The house is two storeys and an attic, with four bays. It features tall sash windows; those on the first floor are single-hung, 18-light windows with thick glazing bars. The third window from the left has had its lower glazing bars removed. The ground-floor windows are 12-light windows, all with keyed heads. A door opening is on the right-hand side, with a doorcase featuring fluted jambs and a frieze, topped by a triangular pediment, leading to a recessed six-panelled door. An attached shop to the right is not considered to be of special architectural or historical interest.
