Description
The water hydrant located outside Salisbury Cottage is a cast iron structure produced by Glenfield and Kennedy of Kilmarnock, dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century.
It features a fluted pillar mounted on a plinth, with a decorative band at the head, topped by a fluted domical cap that has a bud finial. A lion head is cast into one side of the hydrant, and there are four spouts with keyed stoppers integrated into the band. The hydrant is positioned on a square stone base.
