Description
The Shore monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Michael and All Angels, about 500 millimetres east of the chancel. This mid-18th century tomb is made of Ham stone and features a stepped base and a moulded plinth. Each of its four faces has one fielded panel, with three-panel pilasters on the flanks and no frieze. The hipped top is adorned with moulded carving and rounded leading edges. The monument commemorates James Shore, who died in 1758, and his wife Ann, who died in 1771.
