Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located in the churchyard about 12 metres south of the porch of the Church of St John the Baptist. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed from Ham stone, possibly with Doulting stone. The tomb features a ledger top, a moulded cornice, and a sunk plinth with bombè ends. The east side displays crossed palms, while the west side has a skull and crossbones. The north and south fronts have raised and fielded panels with a central carved drop. The inscriptions on both sides of the tomb are illegible.
