Description
Stoney Bridge and The Nook is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century and has since been divided. It features colourwashed random rubble walls and a thatched roof, with brick stacks on the left gable end and above the entrance. The entrance leads to a plant lobby with stairs located to the right, which is an uncommon arrangement. The building has two storeys and two bays. On the first floor, there is an ovolo moulded three-light mullioned window on the left and a steeply chamfered three-light mullioned window on the right. The ground floor has an ovolo moulded three-light window on the left and a four-light window on the right of the entrance, along with a small moulded stair window above the entrance to the right. The entrance has a moulded surround and a plank door. There is also a single-storey lean-to and a one-bay addition on the left with a clay tiled roof. The interior has not been seen but may be of interest. The exterior is unusually complete for a 17th-century building.
