Description
Myrtle Cottage is a cottage that may have originally been an agricultural building, dating from the 17th to 18th century. It features roughcast over rubble and has a thatched roof that is hipped to the left. There is a brick stack rising from the eaves on the left side, a later brick stack at the rear, and another brick stack at the right gable end. The building has a plan with three cells and one and a half storeys, arranged in a 1:3 bay configuration. The early 19th-century leaded iron casements include two and three-light dormers that rise from just below the eaves. On the ground floor, there are two-light windows on the left and three and two-light windows on the right of a 20th-century plank door with an inserted light. Although the interior has not been seen, it is said to contain four side-lapped and notched collar trusses.
