Description
Hapsford Gardens is a cottage that was formerly part of the Hapsford House estate. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of random rubble with a slate roof. The eaves feature decorative bargeboards, and there is a ridge rubble stack. The building is a single storey with an attic and has two bays. On the first floor, there are two-light stone mullioned windows with plain stone surrounds, each having a four-centred head, set in two low gables. The ground floor features similar openings in two canted bays, which are topped with hipped slate roofs that also have decorated bargeboards. All window openings have casements with Gothicized glazing bars. There is a door opening on the right side, which has a 20th-century half-glazed door. A 20th-century single storey addition is located to the left. The cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
