Description
50 Church Street is a cottage located in Fordyce Village, dating from the early 19th century, with later modifications that include a heightening and a single storey wing. The building is single storey with an attic and features three bays. It is constructed from harled pointed rubble with tooled rubble dressings, and the wing is also harled. The entrance is centrally located and is flanked by small windows. There is a similar window and a blocked door on the street-facing gable. The cottage has two substantial later piended bipartite dormers that break the wallhead, and it features 2-pane glazing. The roof is slate, and there are coped end stacks. Surrounding the property, high rubble walls enclose the garden at the rear, while a low wall fronts the street.
