Description

No. 53 Manor Road is a lodge, now functioning as a house, built around 1899. It features painted incised roughcast over rubblestone and has a slate roof with rendered stacks at the gable ends and rear. The building has a three-unit plan with rear additions and is designed in a picturesque Gothic Revival style. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and has a three-window range. There are three gabled dormers with slate cheeks and decorative bargeboards, each with triangular heads above two-light leaded casement windows. The ground floor has pointed-arched two-light windows with small panes. To the left of the center, there is a door set in an enclosed gabled porch. The interior has not been inspected.
