Description

The walled garden and gazebo to the north of Ditcheat House, along with an attached stable block, date from the 18th century. The large enclosed garden features coursed and squared rubble walls topped with freestone copings, and the interior walls are lined with brick. In the north-west corner stands a hexagonal brick gazebo, built in English garden-wall bond, with a tall facetted slate roof. Each face of the gazebo has pointed arch Gothick casements, and there is a similar Gothick door opening on the garden side, accessed by a flight of stone steps with an iron handrail. Attached to the south-east corner is a single-storey stable, constructed of rubble with a tiled roof, featuring a broad door opening with plank doors.
