Description
The Richmond Chubb monument is a commemorative structure located in the churchyard about 3 meters south of the vestry at the Church of St. Catherine. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of Ham stone in a Gothic style. The monument features a stepped base and a moulded plinth. Its main body is square in plan and includes corner buttresses, with each face adorned with traceried gables that have crocketting. At the top, there is a square block displaying the lamb and cross of St. John. The monument commemorates Mary Chubb, who died in 1845, as well as others, including the children of James Richmond, who died in 1904, and August Matilda Chubb, who died in 1915.
