Description

The Shepherd Chest Tomb, located in the churchyard 16 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St John Evangelist, is an early 19th-century chest tomb made of ham stone. It features a slab base and a plain plinth, with simple pilasters and undecorated recessed panels—one on each end and two on each side. The tomb is topped with a thin moulded, slightly hipped top. It commemorates John Shepherd, who died in 1806.
