Description
Church Bridge is a bridge that was likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from local stone rubble with dressings made of Doulting stone. The bridge features three plain semi-circular arches, which are supported by triangular cutwaters and base starlings on the east side. It has a simple parapet. Historical records indicate that in 1757, the bridge was barely wide enough for a carriage, but by 1838, it had been widened on the east side. The parapets were damaged by flood and were awaiting repair as of October 1983.
