Description
No. 5 Silver Street is a house that forms the end of a row, originating from the 17th century. It is constructed from local stone rubble that is coursed, with dressings made of Doulting stone. The roof is plain gabled and covered with stone slates, featuring 20th-century chimney stacks located at the west end and in the middle of the building. The house has two storeys with an attic and consists of three bays.
The lower bays one and two have wave mould timber mullioned windows with three lights, which include steel casement inserts and are set under exposed timber lintels. The third bay features a 20th-century door and a two-light casement window, also under a timber lintel. Above, there are three two-light windows with beaded plain ashlar surrounds, and all the lights on both levels have rectangular leaded panes. The house also has three pitched roof dormer windows, each with two-light casements and cheeks clad in Welsh slate. The interior has not been seen.
