Description
Symes Foodstore and wall is a house and shop dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from lias and Ham stone rubble, with 20th-century render on the frontage and a slate roof featuring brick stacks. The building is two storeys high and has four bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars. To the right, there is a double shop front with eight lights on each side, a recessed central half-glazed door, and pilasters with consoles on either side, topped with a fascia and cornice that has lead capping. To the left, there is a doorway leading to the house, which features a good panelled door. The forecourt is walled with lias stone and includes two gateways with piers that have cross-domed caps.
