Stables And Wall Adjoining No 5 To South

The stables and adjoining wall located to the south of No. 5 on Church Road in North Curry are 19th century structures. The stables are constructed from blue lias stone, squared and coursed, while the wall at the north end, which abuts The Old Vicarage, is roughcast and features exposed quoins at the entrance to the stable yard. The stables have a roof covered with triple Roman tiles. The wall has a flat stone coping, stands about 2 meters high, and is approximately 15 meters long, with interruptions for gates that are not included in the listing. The stables are oriented gable end towards the road and have a semi-circular headed loft door. The north front of the stables consists of four bays but is concealed from view by the wall. This building is primarily listed for its group value with The Old Vicarage and Nos. 2-4 Church Road to the south.
