Description
Linden Cottage is a semi-detached cottage, likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with a partially rebuilt area around the ground floor window and random rubble on the ground floor of the right return. The cottage features full height pilaster quoins made of brick and has a steeply pitched double Roman tile roof, with a brick stack on the left that has dog-tooth moulded caps. The building has an L-plan layout, consisting of a single cell with an extension at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has one bay. The first floor has an early 19th-century leaded iron casement window, while the ground floor features a segmental headed 16-pane sash window to the right of the door, which includes a fanlight. The cottage also has a curved corrugated iron pentice porch. It is adjacent to No 1 Church Road on the left, which is not included in the listing due to 20th-century alterations.
