Description
No. 41 High Street is an 18th-century house that has been converted into a shop. It is constructed of local stone rubble with ashlar dressings, and the front elevation is rendered and painted. The roof is made of undulating clay tiles, with bricks at the heads of simple gables and brick chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and two bays, featuring a plinth and rusticated quoins. On the upper floor, there are two 12-pane sash windows with architraved surrounds and small console brackets supporting the cills. The ground floor has a slightly bayed shop window in the first bay, which includes a shallow fascia and a moulded hood over a flat roof. The central entrance consists of plain glazed doors flanked by panelled wood pilasters, topped with a simple hood. To the right, there is a former projecting window that matches the first bay but has been adapted to accommodate a pair of glazed garage doors. The interior has not been seen.
