Description

This is a mid-18th century house, now used as a shop and cafe. It is constructed of stucco with a double-Roman tile roof and has two brick stacks. The building is in a Gothick style, with two storeys and a 2:1 bay arrangement. The left two bays feature pointed arch window openings, with iron casements containing leaded lights and iron quadrants. The right bay has a flush-mounted 16-pane sash window on the first floor. A projecting shop front from the 20th century occupies the ground floor of the right bay. The left two bays have a central pointed arch doorway, leading to a ribbed and studded door, sheltered by a metal tent-canopy supported by later wrought-iron. A rubble wall defines the forecourt, capped with tufa, and incorporates a central wrought-iron gate. A single-storey addition to the right is not part of the listed building.
