Description
The Hollies is a large detached house, likely built in the early 19th century. It stands three storeys tall and is finished in roughcast with hipped slate roofs and tall ashlar chimney-stacks. The cornice features two rows of modillions, and the centre of the street front projects forward. The building has chamfered quoins and three windows, with the centre ground floor window set in a sunk panel and topped with an arched head, featuring keystones. The sashes have thin glazing bars. To the right, there is a lower wing with parapet coping that sweeps up. The entrance front includes a projecting Tuscan porch. A stone garden wall runs along the street, adorned with two rusticated gatepiers topped with ball finials. The Hollies is part of Millfield School, established in 1973.
