Description
Jacoby Cottage is a 17th-century building that was originally a medieval pilgrimage chapel dedicated to St James. It has been divided and converted into a cottage. The structure is built of stone rubble and features pantiles on the roof, along with two modern dormers and coved eaves. There are angle buttresses and a blocked-up pointed window in the east wall. Notably, there is one original three-light window with cusped heads in the south wall, and a sash window with glazing bars on the ground floor to the left. The entrance has a plain wooden door. Jacoby Cottage is the last remaining example of Glastonbury's three 'slipper chapels'.
