Description

Gates, gatepiers, and railings are set in a dwarf wall that fronts the Church of St Mary. These features are possibly from the mid 20th century and are made of wrought iron. The design includes trefoil-headed uprights, with double gates that sweep down to the center and single gates on either side, leading to railings from the gatepiers. The railings are set in red sandstone random rubble dwarf walls that have flat coping, standing about one meter high. It is possible that the dwarf wall dates from the 19th century and that the gates and railings were replaced in the mid 20th century after the Second World War.
