Description

Woodcombe Farmhouse, now a house, dates primarily from the 17th century, with significant remodelling in the early 19th century and further alterations around 1990. It is built with painted roughcast over rubble stone, and has a crested slate roof hipped to the left, with a brick stack to the right gable end. The house has a three-unit plan and a four-window range over two storeys. The windows are 20th-century three-light casements, and there is a door with a hood. The interior was remodelled around 1990. Historical records indicate that John Atkins held 21 acres at Higher Woodcombe in 1822, and the area of Woodcombe was mentioned as early as the 14th century.
