Description
Two semi-detached houses, numbers 8 and 10 The Parks, were built around 1840. They are constructed of stucco with flat quoin pilasters, and have slate roofs with brick stacks to the gable ends and the party wall. The houses have a double-depth plan, with single-storey side wings on each side. Each house is two storeys high and features a symmetrical two-window front. Number 8, on the right, has a 20th-century three-light casement window within a central dormer, and a central 20th-century stucco porch with flanking 6/6-pane sash windows. To the right of the porch is a small, single-storey flat-roofed shop with late 19th-century consoles supporting the fascia. Number 10, on the left, has a 20th-century three-light casement window in a dormer, and a central 20th-century porch constructed of rubble stone, flanked by late 19th-century plate-glass sash windows. A very late 20th-century window is located in the side wing. The interiors were not inspected.
