COMPTON BISHOP CP WEBBINGTON Crinkle-crankle wall forming an enclosed garden at NGR ST 3800 5577

II Crinkle-crankle wall forming a square enclosed walled garden circa 1910. English bond brick walling, brick and tile coping; single brick thickness; walling serpentine on plan. North east and south west sides ramped in eleven distinct sections to accomodate the fall of the hill upon which the wall in placed. Two gateways; that to centre of south east wall under a plain tile coping, plank gate; that to centre of south west wall flanked by brick buttresses with hipped caps, decorative wrought iron gate. Later greenhouse within the walled garden not included. Formerly part of the Webbington Manor estate. Rare feature in the county.
