Description
Wick House is a house that was enlarged to function as a shop and is now a house again. It likely dates from the 18th century and was altered in the early 19th century. The exterior is roughcast over rubble with an asbestos slate roof that is hipped to the left and has coped verges on the right with a brick stack at the gable end. The building has a plan consisting of two cells and a cross passage, with a gabled two-storey addition on the left and further additions at the rear.
The house is two storeys high, with the main block featuring three 2-light casement windows on the first floor. The gabled wing is only lit on the right return. On the ground floor, there is a flat-roofed canted bay window on the right, a 16-pane sash window in the centre, and 8-pane sash window returns. To the left of the entrance, there is a 20th-century window, and a 12-pane sash window is located to the left of an arched, blocked entrance in the wing. The main entrance consists of a 20th-century half-glazed door with a 19th-century leaded fanlight and etched glass.
In front of the house, there is a five-bay cast iron verandah with trelliswork supports and a half bay return on the right, along with a pebble pavement below. This building was formerly known as Creedy's Stores.
