Description

Fives Court wall, located about 10 metres north of the Poulett Arms Inn, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of ham stone ashlar and measures approximately 4 metres wide and 7 metres high, featuring a coped pitched top. Locally known as the 'Pelota Wall', this name suggests a connection to early 19th century French prisoners of war, who are believed to have introduced the game to other areas of the county.
