Description
West Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed from local stone that is cut, squared, and coursed, with Ham stone dressings. The roof is covered with plain clay tiles and features coped gables, along with end brick chimney stacks. The building has an "L" plan and consists of two storeys with an attic, with the entrance located on the southeast side.
The southwest elevation, which faces the road, has four bays divided into two sections. The right two bays feature mullioned windows with ovolo mouldings, where the lower windows have four lights with labels and the upper ones have three lights without labels. The left section is a later addition that includes three-light casement windows. The side elevation has a gable and then a two-bay extension. There is a free-standing porch supported by thin Tuscan columns, topped with a shallow flat-roofed entablature leading to a 20th-century door. The tall hollow chamfer mullioned windows on this elevation have two and three lights, which may date from the early 20th century.
