Description
Lower Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century, which was extended at both ends in the late 19th century. It is constructed of locally sourced stone that has been cut and squared, with exposed timber lintels. The openings feature brick surrounds and segmental arches, and the roof is covered with Welsh slate, complete with timber capped verges and brick stacks at the intermediate and end points. The building is two stories high and has five bays. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with four glazed panels, set in a plain opening that is sheltered by a 19th-century wooden lattice porch topped with a lead bell-cast hip roof. The windows are a mix of two and three-light casements. A fire insurance plaque is displayed above the front door.
