Description

This is a late 18th-century house located on the west side of High Street in Templecombe. The house is constructed of local stone rubble with a Welsh slate roof, featuring gable overhangs, and has brick chimney stacks. It originally comprised three bays, with a window later added to the ground floor of one bay. The windows are predominantly 2- and 3-light casements with horizontal bars. The upper windows have iron frames with opening lights, while the lower windows are set within segmental arched openings with voussoirs. A 20th-century snail-pane casement is located to the left of the first bay. The front door, located within the second bay, has a glazed toplight and is sheltered by a pitched roof timber hood supported by brackets. A single-storey extension is attached to the north gable. The interior of the house has not been inspected. A low ashlar kerb supports 19th-century cast iron railings with alternating loops and arrowheads, featuring curved returns to the house. Central gates, without piers, are also present, and contribute to the setting of the house.
