Town House, now offices. Probably late C18 but apparently re-fronted c1830. Brick colourwashed, with double Roman concrete tiles between coped gables; brick chimney stack on East side. 2-storey main facade of 3-bays. Centrally placed 6-panellod door with Regency style doorcase incorporating flat Roman Doric unfluted pilasters supporting entablature with reeding and shallow flat head, with cast iron fret over: 16-pane sash windows to either side (both bottom casements having lost their glazing bars) with matching windows above, and a central window of 12-panes, all in plain openings with flat gauged brick arches. Cornice moulding and simple stone parapet. The East return wall shows keying of new facade; random coursed stone with small circular window near crown of gable - there is a modern casement at ground floor level and a 16-pane window at first floor. Interior much altered, with little orignal work left. The late C19 rear extension not of interest. The property dominates the bottom of Silver Street.
