Description

This sundial, located approximately 4 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Laurence in Scalby, dates from the 17th century and is set on a base that is likely of medieval origin. It is made of brass and sandstone, with the base standing at about 1.25 metres high. The sundial features a partly illegible inscription that reads, "Gift of George Dickinson, 1690."
