Description

The war memorial at the Church of St Laurence is a structure built in 1920. It is made of ashlar and features an octagonal village cross. The memorial has a triangular ashlar base that supports two hexagonal stone steps. At the center, a tall hexagonal base is topped with a higher hexagonal pier that bears an inscription honoring the villagers who lost their lives in both the Great War and the Second World War. The design includes a chamfered stepped hexagonal plinth leading up to a tall hexagonal cross, which is topped with a carved stone sword.
