HILLAM CHAPEL STREET (south side) Stable to Hall Farm 20 metres to south of house

Stable and hayloft. Probably early C17. Magnesian limestone rubble with pantile roof and stone slate coping to gable end. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central entrance between window openings. 3 breathers to 1st floor. Pitching door in gable. Interior: collar beam roof. Notable as part of a C17 complex including Hall Farm (q.v.), Cowshed and Granary (q.v.), Threshing Barn (q.v.) and Burton cottage and Chantries cottage (q.v.) (reputed to have been the original Hillam Hall).
