Description
Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the early 17th century. It is constructed from rendered magnesian limestone coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has a three-cell lobby-entry plan with an off-centre entrance that includes a 20th-century door. Throughout the farmhouse, there are 20th-century Yorkshire sash windows, mostly tripartite, with stone sills. The roof has ridge stacks and a large projecting end chimney. Inside, the ceilings are adorned with boxed beams. Hall Farmhouse is notable as part of a 17th-century complex that includes the Cowshed, Granary, Stables, Threshing Barn, and Burton Cottage and Chantries Cottage, which were formerly believed to be the original Hillam Hall.
