Description

1 Millgate is a building from the mid-18th century. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of coursed stone with a stone slate roof, featuring two brick chimneys. The facade includes two windows with 19th-century hung sashes and one window on the ground floor. The entrance is marked by a painted stone doorcase that has plain pilasters and a small open pediment, topped with a traceried segmental fanlight. The door itself consists of four panels, with two of them being glass. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 21 (odd) and also forms a group with No 56 Market Place.
