Description

No. 5 Millgate is a mid-18th century building constructed of painted rubble with a stone slate roof. It features two brick stacks and has two three-storey bays, each containing three hung sash windows on every storey, all with stone surrounds and glazing bars. The central entrance has a modern door set in a simple moulded stone case with a plain entablature. The door panels are now boarded, except for two glass panels. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 21 (odd) and also forms a group with No. 56 Market Place.
