Description

This pair of houses, located to the left of Grove Cottage, dates from the mid to late 18th century and has been subdivided into two separate homes. The buildings are constructed of reddish-orange brick with red brick dressings that have been painted, featuring stone sills and a pantile roof. They are two storeys high and have two first-floor windows. The entrances, which are plain hardboard doors, are positioned centrally and off-centre, and are topped with flat arches made of rubbed red brick, with the right entrance being a later addition. The windows throughout are 4-pane sashes, also set under flat arches of rubbed brick. The eaves are adorned with a rubbed brick modillion cornice, and there is brick coping along the top. The roof is swept and made of pantiles, with end stacks and an outshut at the rear.
