Description
Drake's House is a house from the mid to late 18th century, with later additions and alterations, including a 19th-century extension to the left that is of no special interest. The building is constructed of pinkish-brown brick in English garden wall bond and features a cast-tile roof. It has a central-staircase plan with an outshut to the rear beneath a catslide roof. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance consists of a mid-20th century hardboard door. There are four-pane sash windows throughout, each with stone sills, and all openings are under flat arches made of painted rubbed brick. The eaves are adorned with a modillion band, and the building has ashlar coping and kneelers, along with end stacks. The rear openings are under elliptical arches. This house was formerly known as Lazenby Cottage.
