Description
Stapleton Lodge is a house located on the east side of Carlton High Street. It was built in the late 18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations, including an extension to the left. The building is primarily constructed of brick, with a rendered finish and a cast-tile roof. It stands two storeys high and features three bays. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with an overlight, framed by an architrave supported by engaged Doric columns, topped with a frieze and a dentil hood. The windows are 12-pane sashes throughout. The roof is swept, and there is ashlar coping and end stacks. The building is incorrectly marked as Carlton Villa on the Ordnance Survey map.
