Description

This is a pair of houses dating from the early to mid-18th century, situated on Southover High Street in Lewes. The houses are constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing and a platband. The roof is tiled, with a ridge stack at the left end and another behind the ridge at the rear. There are two small, segment-headed dormers.

The houses are two storeys high with attics and basements, and have a four-window front. Most of the windows are glazing bar sash windows with red brick surrounds. However, the second and fourth bays from the left have blind windows, and the second bay from the right features a deep, canted bay with a flat head and a basement opening above the pavement. The front doors, which are panelled with flat heads, are located in the second and fourth bays from the left, each with a transom light featuring glazing in a Gothic style.
