Description
The stable block, located approximately 30 metres west of Low Hall, dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of dressed sandstone on a chiselled sandstone plinth, featuring chiselled dressings and a pantile roof with the remains of a brick stack. The building is single-storey with a three-bay front, and there is a lower, two-bay outbuilding set back to the left.
The central entrance consists of a six-panel door beneath a divided overlight, framed by a Gibbs surround. On either side of the door are unequal twenty-pane sash windows in triple-keyed raised surrounds, complete with painted stone sills. The outbuilding features a four-panel door beneath a divided overlight, with a two-light, sixteen-pane horizontal-sliding sash window to the left, and a door with six raised and fielded panels located in the re-entrant angle. All openings are topped with tripartite keyed lintels, and the building has coped gables and shaped kneelers, with an end left stack on the outbuilding. The right gable wall includes a six-pane pivoting window in a triple-keyed raised surround.
Inside, there are three loose boxes arranged between a Doric distyle in antis screen.
