Description
Promenade Court, located at Cornwall Road, is a late 18th to early 19th century building, specifically constructed after 1773 but before 1829. Originally known as Nos 2, 5, and 6 Cornwall Road, it was converted in the early 19th century into two semi-detached residences. The building stands three storeys tall with basements and features a double front. It has three windows and is constructed from grit stone ashlar. The stone slate roof includes a bracketed gutter and a cornice over a three-storey bay that contains three light windows. The recessed sash windows have sill bands. The entrance is highlighted by coupled Doric doorcases with arched fanlights and panelled doors, which are accessed by steps. There is also a later flat entrance on the south side and mid-19th century wrought iron railings. Promenade Court is part of a group that includes Nos 7 to 12 (consecutive) Promenade Court and the return of No 30 Swan Road.
