Description
This is a house, dated 1683 on the lintel, although this date may have been altered later. It appears to be 17th century in origin, but has been considerably altered and includes a later 18th-century right bay. The house is constructed of lightly-tooled coursed sandstone, approaching ashlar quality, set on a chamfered plinth. The right bay is similarly constructed, but the sandstone contains more iron content, with older stone upper courses visible, indicating the eaves have been raised. The roof is covered in concrete tiles with a stone ridge, copings, kneelers and stacks.
The house has two storeys and three bays to the left and one bay to the right. In the right bay is a studded door with a flattened Tudor-arched lintel. Replaced paired sashes are set under inserted lintels on the left side. The first-floor outer bays have Yorkshire sashes, with a filled panel between them. The right bay has a three-light Yorkshire sash under an extended keyed lintel. The house has copings and corniced stacks positioned at the ends and at the junction between the two bays.
The interior has not been inspected and is said to be much altered.
